Essential Job Functions:

  1. Install windows and doors according to Packerland Home Improvement’s standards and procedures.
  2. Apply interior and exterior finish work as needed for every application.
  3. Teach homeowners how to operate newly installed Packerland Home Improvement products.
  4. Communicate with the office at the end of an installation to ensure customer satisfaction and authorize final payments.
  5. Supervise and train other installation crew members on best practices.
  6. Meet with homeowners to discuss project details before, during, and after installation. Complete job checklist with homeowner at completion.
  7. Treat each homeowner and their property with the utmost respect
  8. Follow LEAN warehousing principles in accordance with Packerland Home Improvement standards
  9. Complete all training needed to become a Packerland Home Improvement Certified  Installer

Secondary Job Functions:

  1. Fill out all paperwork in a timely fashion.
  2. Work with Installation Manager to ensure Installation vehicles are properly equipped and maintained.
  3. Assist in small construction projects for showroom, warehouse, etc., as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 year of REPLACEMENT window experience.
  • Ability to climb ladders with windows that weigh up to 100lbs.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Must have own basic tools (drill, hammer, snips, tape measure, tool pouch, speed square, nail set, screwdrivers, putty knife and/or 5-in-1 tool, and pry bar).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Great communication and customer service skills with the ability to clearly communicate with homeowners and team members.

The Window and Door Installation Lead is the homeowner’s point of contact during the installation day. While working with our Install Techs, the Installation Leads are responsible for the quality of the finished install, as well as for answering homeowners’ questions about the operation of Packerland Home Improvement products and connecting the homeowner with the office to receive final payment.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Cover and protect all interior areas of home where foot traffic or construction debris is expected.
  2. Remove window unit from truck, bring to area of building where it will be installed, and inspect for damages/defects before construction begins.
  3. Pull off trim stops with pry bar and use sawzall to cut existing window unit out of wall.
  4. Clean and prepare the rough opening for new unit, repairing or replacing wood where needed.
  5. Move to exterior of building to assist Lead Installer in setting the window unit in the rough opening.
  6. Using the Lead Installer’s directions as a guide, insert shims under the window unit, as needed.
  7. Once the Lead Installer has fully set and screwed the window into place, insulate the interior and exterior of the window with fiberglass or foam insulation, depending on project needs.
  8. After the Lead Installer has attached the trim to the interior of the window, putty the nail holes to create a smooth, finished appearance.
  9. Use an aluminum break to bend aluminum cladding to correct profile and dimensions.
  10. Attach hardware, insert screens, and remove labels from windows and place NFRC stickers in the homeowner packet.

Secondary Job Functions:

  1. Ensure project work area has been thoroughly cleaned including vacuuming floors, cleaning interior and exterior of glass, picking up remaining garbage/scraps.
  2. Ensure yard has had all debris and equipment removed.
  3. Once inspection is complete, a yard sign should be place in the front yard. If the building is on a corner, both sides with street frontage should get a sign. The Lead Installer is responsible for obtaining homeowner permission to place these signs.
  4. Dispose of jobsite waste (old windows, wood, cardboard, etc.) upon return to shop
  5. Restock any materials that have been depleted from the work truck.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Work with Operations Manager to receive items for color matches or to determine the color/finish needed for each project. If a color match approval is needed for the project, Painter/Stainer is to work with Operations Manager to confirm color matching standards are being met.
  2. Make Operations Manager aware of any defects in product before painting/staining.
  3. Remove accessories from windows, if applicable, using hand tools, prior to painting/staining, and mask areas that should not be exposed to finishing processes or substances.
  4. Select appropriate stain/paint/finish to obtain desired colors, shades, or finishes from third party supplier and obtain from offsite location or place order for delivery.
  5. Examine and test sample products to ensure conformance to specifications.
  6. Brush, spray, or hand-rub paint/stain/lacquer/etc onto and into wood grain and apply sealers, as needed.
  7. Transfer completed items or products, some weighing up to 100lbs, from work area to drying or storage areas.
  8. Clean tools, related equipment, and work areas, using water, solvents and other cleaning aids. Remove excess paint/stain, using cloths soaked in paint thinner. Keep work area neat and void of hazards.
  9. Complete necessary forms to record operational data. Package and provide an 8-ounce sample of the stain/paint used to the Warehouse Manager for job preparation.
  10. Complete all work by assigned due date

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of applicable experience
  • Ability to mix stains/paints to color match is preferred
  • Must be reliable with good communication skills and high attention to detail.
  • Driver License and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time and transport items that weigh up to 100lbs

  4. Schedule appointments for homeowner to meet with our Project Consultants
  5. Accurately collect homeowner and appointment information and return to office

Requirements:

  • Responsible, professional, and outgoing personality
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
  • Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skils

This is a part time (mostly Saturday) position with the opportunity for more hours and advancement opportunities for the right candidate. Pay starts at $10 per hour and performance-based bonuses are available.

This is a full time position with advancement opportunities for the right candidate. Pay starts at $12 per hour, based on experience, and performance-based bonuses are available for meeting or exceeding performance goals.
